New Beginnings

Today is a big day.

No I'm not getting married.
Or divorced.
Or having a baby.
Or having an 11th Birthday for my pet parakeet.

Today we are all meeting, formally:

My ex-husband, his new girl-friend (M), my boy-friend (T) and myself. The occassion is my daughter's 8th birthday party at Chuck E Cheese.

I don't think this occassion is way out of the ordinary range for this day and age. Actually, coincidentally, a very good friend of mine, Croker, is meeting his ex's new boyfriend on this very day too.

I look at this day as a new beginning. I am very excited to meet this woman who the kids' have learned to love, and my ex is looking forward to meeting T for same reason. The way I see it, the more people who love my kids, the healthier, happier and more adjusted the will be in the long-term.

It's also a refreshing reminder that life does go on after divorce. It is times like these that I'm so happy that we both handled the divorce with maturity and grace, which makes times like these possible.
